Here’s a little confession for you: one of my greatest joys in life is having the ability to share the work of my creative friends with the world. I’m surrounded by immensely talented potters, crafters, designers, florists, cooks, illustrators and photographers, some of whom make a living from their skills, and others who simply create for the joy of it.
One such creative gem is my beautiful friend Kat, designer at Kaiko and regular contributor to Tell Me Tuesday’s Deck My Tech series.
Here’s Kat to tell you a little about her inspiration for this latest series of free downloadable desktop wallpapers:
I absolutely love geometric shapes and how powerful they are in design. I wanted to contrast the strong geometric forms by introducing more organic and free-flowing elements. This is also carried through to the colour palette – soft pinks contrasted with bright fuschia and orange. I hope that this instalment brings some colour and geometric love into your day!
Kat originally hails from Perth, Australia but after several years of traveling the globe, is currently based in Vancouver, Canada. Her travels brought her to South East Asia, India, Nepal and beyond, reigniting her passion for textile and surface design. Kat was inspired to begin creating her own patterns and designs for textiles and to learn more about traditional dying and printmaking processes. From this, Kaiko was born, where she now produces lovingly hand made products for people and their homes. Be sure to check out her online store and connect with her on Instagram.
