Three Glowing Green Smoothie Recipes to Try This Week

After a weekend jam packed with birthdays, engagements and baby showers by Monday morning I’m feeling rather…. blergh. My skin is dull, I feel bloated and my energy levels are low.

My cure? Green smoothies every damn day. Below are my 3 favourite recipes, which I interchange daily. I generally don’t eat breakfast, so I usually bulk up my smoothies with chia seeds, nuts and psyllium husks.

What’s your favourite green smoothie combination?

#1 Green Power

1 banana
1/2 avocado
1 handful of your favourite green leaf (baby spinach, kale or chard all work well)
1 teaspoon hemp seeds
1 teaspoon super green powder
1 1/2 cups coconut water
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tablespoon psyllium husks
1/2 soft green pear

#2 Warming Glow

1 banana
1 handful baby spinach
1 1/2 cups coconut water
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 handful activated nuts (macadamias, almonds or cashews are all great)

#3 Cacao Boost

1 banana
1 medjool date
1 tablespoon cacao powder
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon chia seeds

Method:

In a high power blender add all of your ingredients. Blitz on high for 2 minutes (or until the mixture is smooth). Serve immediately.
